Factors That Influence Low Blood Pressure

Several things are well known to be able to influence a person’s low blood pressure. Diet is one thing. Diets that allow arterial plaque to build up, for instance, will constrict the passage of blood through the arteries, increasing blood pressure. Exercise and stress are the other more common things that will affect low blood pressure by influencing the way the heart pumps blood throughout the body. Loss of blood will also affect blood pressure by actual reduction in the amount of blood in a person. Blood viscosity or thickness is another factor that affects low blood pressure by changing the rate of fluid movement in the arteries.
