Genetics Of Varicose And Spider Veins
They say that varicose and spider veins can be passed on genetically. They are usually caused by the valves in the veins getting weaker as we age. Basically, up to half of the American population is affected with vein problems. I am very nervous about the possibility of getting these ugly blue bulging veins in my legs later in life. My grandmother had terrible legs as she grew older. She had to wear support stockings for varicose veins everyday and had quite a bit of pain. I had to give her lots of credit for her will to stay mobile even when battling swollen, painful veins and arthritis. I just hope that I don’t get them, too!
