Is there pain and discomfort after liposuction
Once liposuction is done by a surgeon, the possibility for inflammation, soreness and swelling is minimal. The patient may not feel much pain or discomfort if the procedure is done under local anesthesia. However is may not be the same for a patient who has undergone liposuction under general anesthesia. Patients are advised to use an elastic compression garment and the incisions to be left open to drain out the blood tinged solution from the body. This will help to speed up the recovery of the patient. The garment gives a feeling of security. Healing takes place by 4 weeks.
