Ethnicity and Hypertension Symptoms

It is especially important to be aware of any symptoms you might have if any of your family members have developed the disease. It tends to run in families and your high blood pressure risks increase dramatically if any family member has experienced it. Ultimately, be very aware and educated about your family’s medical history. Your ethnic background plays a major role in the risk of developing high blood pressure. It appears that African Americans and Native Americans have a much higher chance of developing hypertension symptoms. Compared to Caucasian Americans, symptoms appear earlier in life for African and Native Americans and the resulting blood pressure readings are at a higher level.
