According to a recent research, it has been found that people who smoke are more prone to blindness in the old age. The smokers are likely to get macular degeneration 3 times as compared to the non-smokers. Smoking also causes dry eye syndrome. Thus, it affects not only your lungs but your eyes as well.

Macular degeneration is a dangerous eye disease. This can cause difficulty in recognizing faces and reading. And there is no sure shot cure for the disease. Stopping smoking is one of the things that you can do to avoid macular degeneration.
