Do you actually have to major in nutrition science to become a nutritionist?

My girlfriend wants to become a nutritionist. We live in Denver but no colleges here have a nutrition science major. I can’t relocate because of my job.

Is it possible to become a nutritionist but major in something else (like pre-med, biology, chemistry, etc)?

Please advise, especially if you are a nutritionist. Thanks.

Elizabeth

No, but biochemistry or biology will be good.

not only do you have to take a nutrition degree, but after you complete it, you work as an intern without pay before you can take the test to become a nutritionist.
