Upbringing and Binge Eating Disorder Prevalence
Some kinds of binge eating disorder are caused by an inability to care for oneself brought about by events that happened while one was going through the process of growing up. For example, children of parents who did not give them much affection or support will instinctively turn to other means in order to make themselves feel good. In some cases, overindulgence in food or drug will be the coping mechanism by which the child fill the void. Fortunately, not all children will have a coping mechanism that will be harmful.
